Madison County, a small rural county at the center of Upstate New York, truly is a destination for tourism for all four seasons.

Spring marks the beginning of some of the best fishing in New York State for trout, walleye, bass, northern pike and other species.

Summer is a time of a variety of festivals and fairs celebrating everything from the Wizard of Oz to life on the Erie Canal. Madison County is also home to the Madison-Bouckville antique show and sale, the largest show of its kind in the Northeast. The season also offers opportunities to play some of the finest golf courses in the region and a chance to attend the induction ceremonies at the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

In the Fall, Madison County's foliage is as beautiful as to be found anywhere in the entire Northeast. It is also a time when hunting for whitetail deer, wild turkey and grouse gets under way.

In the Winter, Madison County is alive with activity from cross-country skiing to snowmobiling.

Year-round, Madison County is filled with museums and historic sites. History can also be relived in the Madison-Bouckville antiques community, at several large antique car shows throughout the county and at one of the largest horse and carriage pleasure driving competitions in the Northeast at the Lorenzo State Historic Site in Cazenovia.

Madison County also has a variety of arts programs including an annual ceramics show, quilting, several arts and crafts shows at Americana Village in Hamilton, and concert series and live music at the Earlville Opera House.

Finally, Madison County is an area of immense natural beauty, from its many streams, lakes and reservoirs to its parks and 130 miles of multi-use trails in Brookfield. For the visitor, Madison County has no shortage of accommodations. These include bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, country inns and campgrounds. The County also has a variety of restaurants for any kind of dining you can imagine.
