How Do I Search For An Inmate In North Dakota?  

Most counties in Dakota allow the public to search for an inmate’s information using an online inmate locator tool. Search for an incarcerated loved one by entering their last name or the first letters of the last name. The search results include only individuals held in North Dakota correctional facilities. These search results exclude individuals imprisoned in North Dakota but serving their sentences in out-of-state correctional facilities.

The Control Officer takes approximately two weeks to approve or deny your application after allowing administrative staff sufficient time to conduct a comprehensive background check. You must produce a valid government-issued ID during your visits.  

Some correctional facilities allow video visits. You need to schedule your visit on a video scheduling website.
